QUIT SMOKING WITH ACUPUNCTURE

Camilla Cameron has developed and implemented quit smoking programs that have helped over 4000 Australians quit smoking for life.  She has specialised in smoking cessation for the last 5 years.  The combination of Camilla’s experience, as well as her own success with quitting smoking helps to ensure you receive the best possible treatment.

Because quitting smoking involves both the mind and body Camilla has devised a 3 step program to make the process as smooth as possible.  The 3 steps involve:

1.       Japanese Acupuncture:  An individually tailored treatment is designed to treat you as a whole.  Points which address the quitting process will be activated as well as points that address your body’s specific requirements.  The Acupuncture component of the treatment is designed to help reduce cravings, detox the body of nicotine and the other associated chemicals and calm the mind.

2.       Lifestyle advice:  It takes approximately 30 days to break or develop a new habit and when you quit smoking you are doing both.  The lifestyle advice will be tailored to suit you and will help you break the habit for life.

3.       Supplementation:  Quitting smoking creates short term stress on the body.  The body is required to detoxify the chemicals associated with smoking.  Unless the body is aided in this process it can take quite some time to complete the detoxification, this can often lead to ‘rebound’ craving.  By using the three supplements provided your body will be supported throughout this process which will speed up the detoxification process and help you body heal more quickly.  The supplements used are Australian made, practitioner only products which ensures their strength and quality.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. How Many Treatments will I require?

Most people require one to two treatments.  Breaking the physical addiction of smoking takes most people approximately 7 days.  For this reason it has been found that, physically, Acupuncture is not required after this period.  However, some people continue to have Acupuncture treatments to help aid in the process of relaxation and to rebalance the body after the toll that smoking has taken.

  1. How does Acupuncture work to help me quit smoking?

Acupuncture helps throughout the quitting process for two fundamental reasons.  One is due to the detoxification process which starts immediately during the treatment.  The second reason is that Acupuncture helps to stimulate endorphins (the feel good hormones) which helps mimic the sensation that nicotine has on the body, this helps to significantly reduce physical and mental cravings.

  1. How long will it take?

The 1st treatment will take between1hr – 1.5 hrs.  Follow up appointments take around 45 minutes.
